Members of the ACM
ACM is Ashland University's student chapter of the National Association for Computing Machinery. As a social service organization, its purpose is to be a gathering of individuals interested in logic and computing machinery. Its free membership is not limited to just computer science majors or minors, but to all interested individuals. Every year, members participate in two programming contests hosted by Ashland University or other universities.



MAA Club

MAA is Ashland University's student chapter of the National Mathematical Association of America. As a social service organization, its purpose is to be a gathering of individuals with an interest in mathematics of whose free membership are not limited to mathematics majors or minors.

Pi Mu Epsilon (PME), Rho Chapter is Ashland University's local chapter of the national Pi Mu Epsilon mathematics honorary society. There are requirements regarding GPA and academic ranking to receive an invitation to the honor society.

Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), Epsilon Chapter of Ohio is Ashland University's local chapter of the national Upsilon Pi Epsilon computer science honorary society. There are requirements regarding GPA and academic ranking to receive an invitation to the honor society.







Problem-Solving Group (PSG)
2011-2012 PSG Group
In the fall of 2011, Dr. Gordon Swain formed the Ashland University Problem Solving Group (PSG). The group met regularly throughout the academic year to discuss and attempt to solve mathematical problems posed in scholarly journals.

The group submitted solutions to several journals and was recognized for solutions in February, April and September 2012 issues of Math Horizons, and the Spring 2012 issue of the PME Journal. Additionally, Math Horizons highlighted the solutions provided by AU PSG in its April and September issues.
