Math/CS Student News

What are some of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department students doing?

Nathan Ahrens - Ahrens a Computer Science major is completing an internship with the IT Department at Ashland University. He is also working on a research project entitled "Visualizing Binary Search Trees Using C++ and QT. His faculty mentor for this project is Dr. Iyad Ajwa.

Emily Law - Law a Mathematics and Physics major is doing research with a research group at the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York, that uses lasers to trap and cool nanoparticles.

Kelly Fullin - Fullin a Mathematics and Computer Science major is doing research in the field of neuroscience at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Michael Woode - Woode a Mathematics and Computer Science major is working on a research project entitled "How to be Good at Golf." His faculty mentor for this project is Dr. Chris Swanson.

Grace McCourt - McCourt graduated from Ashland University in May 2017 with a double major in Integrated Mathematics and Mathematics. She has been accepted and will attend Miami University's two year Masters in Mathematics Program. She was also offered and assistanship with Miami University, which she has accepted. She will begin her masters and assistanship Fall 2017.
